Common nuisance species Wild animals that can cause problems in homes, gardens or yards include armadillos, skunks, boars, foxes, squirrels, snakes, rats, groundhogs, beavers, opossums, raccoons, bats, moles, deer, mice, coyotes, bears, ravens, seagulls, woodpeckers and pigeons.

In Milwaukee County, all stray animals must go to Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC), which is not affiliated with the Wisconsin Humane Society. If you are outside of these areas or are unsure whom to call, contact the humane society nearest you or call your local non-emergency police line.

The animal may be damaging property such as buildings, crops, pets, livestock, gardens, or public parks. Wildlife may threaten human health or safety by spreading diseases; through direct attacks; or accidentally, because of collisions with cars, airplanes, or trains.

Animal Relocation: Animals that have been live captured may not be relocated to DNR controlled lands. Persons must have permission from the landowner when relocating animals to private property. NR 12.10(1)(a)3., s. 169.04(2)(a)2.
